This conversion was done using a 1893 dated MkII action, these markings can be found on the right hand side of the Butt socket. On the left hand side of the butt socket can be found the markings for the .22 conversion including the letter “N” which denotes for Navel use. The rifle is profusely marked with its Australian heritage and it has the correctly 22 marked empty magazine that was reintroduced in 1925 to catch the empty cases. The barrel is clean and bright with good rifling, a nice example of the No2 Mk IV* .22 rifle.
