The 1907 War Office Pattern training rifle was designed to simulate the sight pattern of the .303 SMLE service rifle and was intended for use by cadets. The rifle was produced in several forms and by B.S.A & London Small arms, this B.S.A. example is fully stocked and is in exceptional condition. It has matching numbers throughout and it carries the “Piled Arms” B.S.A. trademark logo on the butt. It is dated 1908 and benefits from retaining the foresight protector that is often missing, the rear-sight is marked in steps from 25 to 200 yards. The four digit serial number indicates an early production, one of the best examples I have seen.
