The .22 Short Rifle Mk II was approved for Navel Service only on the 15th of January 1912, it was intended to resemble the .22 Short Rifle Mk I as closely as possible It was a conversion of the Mk II Lee Metford / Enfield. This example is in very good condition for its age and has been built on a 1898 dated Enfield LE Mk I action, marked on the right hand side of the butt socket, the Sht 22 Mk II N is marked on the left hand side of the butt socket. It retains its full set of volley sights and it has a windage adjustable rear sight. Overall condition is very good including the barrel with matching numbers to the bolt, action and woodwork.
