The .22 1907 War Office Pattern rifle was designed to simulate the sight pattern of the .303 SMLE service rifle, it was produced for cadet use in both single shot and magazine fed forms. It was also sold extensively to the civilian shooting clubs and individuals . This London Small Arms manufactured rifle was purchased by an individual and it was put into a contemporary custom made fitted case which not only houses the rifle but also has a cleaning rod, oil can and cleaning materials included. The rifle has a three digit serial number indicating very early manufacture, it has a walnut half stock that has the LSA logo on the butt. The original owner has fitted a windage adjustable diopter target sight to the wrist of the rifle, the original rear sight is graduated from 25 to 200 yard increments, the foresight is very unusual and rare as it is two position being interchangeable between the standard post and a target “Barleycorn” one. The barrel is “Parker Rifled” and is in very good condition it also retains its original five round magazine which is so often missing. An exceptional rifle combination that is probably unique in its presentation and condition.
