This is a 1916 dated rifle, it has matching numbers to the action, bolt and nose cap, the barrel has been replaced with a South African one and is in very good condition. The serial number, P718 is unusual as is the “Australian” style nose cap but as it is properly numbered to the rifle it is obviously correct, the rifle appears to have spent some time in the US as “ENGLAND” has been stamped on the side of the action. When it comes to Enfield rifles nothing is written in stone!!
