This is a 1944 dated rifle with matching & original numbers throughout, unmolested condition never having been through any form of FTR c/w original blued finish that has not been over painted. Very good original barrel coded, numbered and dated to the rifle with a very good bore gauging at .30275. Original scope pads, the rear undisturbed the front re-staked just once, the original fore-end has been center bedded at some point probably a very long time ago making this a very accurate rifle. The butt is correctly marked S51 with the rifle serial number under the butt socket, it also bears the correct and only scope serial number on the top of the wrist. All the correct inspectors marks are present along with the correct contractors codes. The No32 Mk3 scope by AK&S it fitted to a correctly numbered Dalgliesh bracket numbered to the rifle c/w a correct leather scope cover. Optically & mechanically perfect and in the correct No8 tin. The rifle & CES are in a 1943 dated converted Bren Gun Chest almost certainly original to the rifle, c/w cleaning kit a good 1918 dated leather sling, canvas rifle cover, observers map case and a very good Scout Regiment low serial numbered spotting scope plus a pair of Prismatic No2 Field Binoculars in their correct case. A very good example of an unmolested No4T rifle and CES, This Rifle & CES are featured in “The British Sniper” by Steve Houghton, the rifle on page 107, the chest on page 90 and the scope & tin on pages 117 & 118 respectively.
